Support and FAQ
Questions about Beepim? Write to support@beepim.live. We read every message and usually reply within a few working days. Please do not send readings or other health data by e-mail, and never send your recovery code.
How do I move to a new phone?
Your entries are stored on your phone. The most reliable way to move them is an encrypted copy. Two steps:
- On the old phone: open Settings → Backup and create an encrypted copy (Premium). Write down the recovery code and save the .beepim file, for example to your phone or a cloud drive you use, or send it to yourself.
- On the new phone: install Beepim, tap “Already use Beepim? Restore your data” on the first screen (or Settings → Backup → Restore from a copy), pick the file and type the code. Restoring is free.
Data in Apple Health or Health Connect is restored through the system’s own phone-transfer tools.
How does restoring with the recovery code work?
The first time you make an encrypted copy, the app shows a code made of letters and digits and asks you to confirm two groups of it. The file can be opened only with that code. To restore, pick the file in the app and type the code; capital letters, spaces and dashes do not matter. The file is decrypted on your device and nothing is sent to us. The app keeps the code on your phone so you can see it again under Settings → Backup.
We cannot recover a lost code, and we do not have your file. If you lose the code, the file cannot be opened. Keep it somewhere safe, such as a password manager or printed paper. If you make a new code, older files still need the old code.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by us and not inside the app. Deleting the app does not cancel them. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Beepim → Cancel. Official Apple instructions.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Beepim → Cancel subscription. Official Google instructions.
Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. For refunds, ask Apple or Google; we cannot refund payments ourselves.
How do I delete my data?
Data on your phone: use “Delete all data” in the app settings or uninstall the app.
Backup files: they stay wherever you saved them until you delete them there. We hold no account, backup or server data about you.
Apple Health / Health Connect: managed in those apps.
More in the Privacy Policy.
How do I read blood pressure or glucose from Apple Health or Health Connect?
In the app, open the settings and choose Health connections. The system asks which data types the app may read; allow only blood pressure and glucose if you want to see them next to your pulse. Imported records show in your history and trends with their source, are never included in a backup file and are not used for anything else. Beepim writes to Apple Health or Health Connect only if you switch that on for blood pressure or glucose, and never writes your camera pulse. You can withdraw the permission in system settings at any time.
How do I get a good pulse reading?
Cover the rear camera and the flashlight completely with your fingertip, press lightly, keep your hand and the phone still, sit down, keep your hands warm and do not talk during the measurement. Avoid direct sunlight. If the signal is weak the app shows no number and asks you to try again. Results can differ between phone models and are a wellness estimate, not a medical measurement.
Is the camera recording me?
No. The camera and flashlight run only during the measurement (about 20 seconds, 30 at most), and the app shows when they are on. Each image is reduced to a few colour averages in memory and discarded. Nothing is saved, uploaded or included in a backup, and the app does not use the microphone. See the Privacy Policy.
The Measure button is not available on my phone.
The pulse check needs a rear camera with a flashlight, and the flashlight must not be in use by another app or switched off because the phone is hot. Let the phone cool down, close other camera apps and try again. On phones without a flashlight the rest of the app (history, trends, manual entries) still works.
Why can’t the app read my blood pressure or glucose with the camera?
Because that would not be reliable. Beepim estimates only the pulse with the camera. Blood pressure and glucose are values you type in or read from your health app. See Medical disclaimer.
